Default Links in PDF

How do I make the links that I create in word still work when I convert to PDF?

It should happen automatically. Check the Acrobat job settings.

There is also a bug in Acrobat: if you have a link that includes a bookmark
switch, then under some circumstances all subsequent links in the document
are ignored.

I used bookmarks and then hyperlinked headings on my title page by using
InsertHyperlinkPlace in This Document and then selecting my bookmark. But
when I convert to pdf, the links don't work. Any suggestions?

I'm also having this problem with links that don't work when convert I
convert to a PDF. It doesn't happen automatically so I have to manually go
through the PDF file and make each link active. I looked the the Acrobat job
settings but I can't find anything. I'm on a Mac (OS X) but I don't think
there is really much difference with the settings. The project I'm working on
has a bunch of PC users as well and they have the same problem with the links
not converting. Is there some setting that I'm missing that needs to be
turned on somewhere?

Thanks,
~peter

As I replied to your other post, this feature is not available in Mac
Acrobat.

Hi Peter:

I am having the same problem with hyperlinks not converting to bookmarks in
pdf. How do you "manually go through the PDF file and make each link active."

Thanks,

Rachna

I may have found a way around this problem.
When you are in Word, choose "Create PDF" from the file menu.
Under the General tab, uncheck "Convert Headings to Bookmarks"
Under the Bookmarks tab, uncheck all of the heading styles, then click the
add button and choose the "Hyperlink" style (I'm assuming you hyperlinked to
your bookmarks in the Word file).
With these settings, when I create the pdf from Word, the hyperlinks to my
bookmarks as well as internet sites are retained in the pdf file without
having to reset them in Acrobat.
Hope this helps.
