What kind of modifications and which templates? Some common points of
error: --be sure you are opening the actual template and not a document based on the template to make the modifications --Corporate policies sometimes wipe your Normal.dot if this is at work --confusion about what "attaching" a template does (changes styles but not text or layout) The latest source of info is here--the ng gets updated far more often than the website.
