how do I convert windows 3.11 to word?
My old computer ran Windows 3.11. My new computer has Word 2003. I loaded the
saved files from disc but cannot open them. How can I convert the files so they can be read and used further? |

Windows 3.11 is an operating system. Word is a word processor. The question
therefore doesn't make sense. Never ever read from, write to or print from floppy with Word. This is the most certain method of ensuring document corruption. Copy to the hard disc and work on the document from there. This is equally relevant to other removable media such as CDRW. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org jowenmilo wrote: My old computer ran Windows 3.11. The files were evidently created by a DOS version of Word. If version 6.0 or
later, you should be able to simply open the files with Word 2003. If the files were created by an earlier version of Word, go to http://www.gmayor.com/downloads.htm and download the appropriate converter.
