We need to password protect documents where officer sig is added. Managers
then open, save as, and fill-in rest of form. They are unable to save as PDF
since password protection of sig has been added.

What are you trying to achieve with the password protection of the
signature? If you think this will prevent someone else from using that
signature in a document, you are dreaming. *ANY* document that you allow
someone to see (and that would include the PDF) can be copied and the
signature used. This is one of the 'benefits' of improving technology.

That's not really a great answer from an M.S. Word expert now is it Graham?

To get round this simply open your Protected document fill it in, then go to
file then print, your default printer will be displayed, choose adobe pdf as
your printer and press print. Save the PDF to your required location.

copied, then you are deluding yourself. *ANY* time you allow someone to view
your signature it can be copied and reproduced. The *ONLY* way to be sure
that you signature cannot be copied is never to write it down.

The whole point of the replies was that password protecting the signature is
the problem and is unnecessary because it doesn't do anything useful.

.....i agree and disagree, forms are useful for protecting the formatting and
system state of the form from people who are filling it in who have no
knowledge of form developement. I agree protecting a form has no bearing on
it's security, however i refer back to the question asked and the answer
given, the answer was not given but only a "spin off" problem. Perhaps maybe
answering the question and then giving the negative would have been more
appropriate.

Normally, one does _not_ save as pdf but rather prints to pdf format. Can
the user do that?
