Default Excel Link in Word - object size is changed

I can't figure out WHY this is happening, or how to make it stop. What's
even more frustrating, is that with Word 2000, this situation didn't happen.
But for some reason it happens in Word 2003. I've searched the help section
and all over the web trying to find a solution for this.

I regularly link Excel worksheet objects into Word, dozens of times a day.
I do this via the "Paste Special-Paste Link-Microsoft Excel Worksheet Object"
method. When the link is pasted, the object is ALWAYS automatically resized
in Word. So, when I've taken the time to set up my column widths and margins
in Excel to fit perfectly within the page in Word, the result is inevitably
stretched and skewed. I am forced to go to "format object" and click the
"reset" button on the size tab, or use the "reset picture" button from the
picture toolbar. Is there a way SOMEHOW to make word paste these linked
objects at 100% their original size? (Rather than 98% x 105%, etc. etc.)
Having to add this extra step is a huge time waster.

Your help would be SO appreciated

Unfortunately I cannot repeat your problem.
I have used the
Can you check the following:
Format Object, Size, "Lock aspect ratio" and "relative to original picture
size"
Are these checked or not? Not that these effected my test, but you never know.
What does your field code look like? My test is this:
{LINK Excel.Sheet.8 "Book2" "Sheet1![Book2]Sheet1 Chart 2" \a \p}

Hope this helps.

I am dying to know the answer to this question as well. We haven't
had much more success in Office 2007 either.

As DeanH said, locking the aspect ratio is necessary to keep the H/W
ratio constant. AFAIK, iff the object is larger that the available
width, Word decreases the width to fit, and the height pro rata.
Further, set to paste the pictures "In line with text"
(Tools/Options/[Edit]).

Hi,
I experienced this as well and found the following solution: copy from excel and paste special paste link bitmap !
Bitmap is the only option not being affected by the MS automatic resizing (changing the 'lock ratio'.. settings did not solve).
Cheers,
Vincenzo

I've been looking for a solution to this problem for years! Unfortunately, if you print a linked Bitmap to Adobe, it comes out blurry, so this is not the answer for me. Any other suggestions?
