Default Filling Out Pre Printed Forms

Make those forms with appropriate fields and in Tools\options\Print tab
check "Print data only for forms" . It will print only those data the user
entered in fields.

My firm uses forms. The forms are available in word format, however,
they're preprinted with colors and such and they don't want us printing the
entire form over and over again so we're stuck with trying to fill out the
preprinted forms. So we've got these forms and I'm trying to figure out a
way of filling them out online and printing them so that only the feilds that
are filled out get printed on the preprinted forms.

What I've devised so far are tables with hidden text and cells with exact
heights and widths so data entered in form feilds are locked into place and
do not exceed or reformat or "push around" the fields as they are filled out.
When designing these tables I print a sheet with the table lines on it, hold
it over the preprinted form and hold it up to the light to see exactly where
the lines and fields fall. I then fidget with it until I get them lined up
in the correct places. As you can imagine, this is tedeous, time consuming
work.

THERE'S GOT TO BE A BETTER WAY! I'm sure that in the business world of
forms and more forms that we have today that someone has figured something
out like this. Can anyone please point me in the right direction or am I
stuck with holding papers up to the light?

Thanks for any help in advance!
Best,

Fly Software (http://www.flysoftware.com) develop form design software called InForm Designer that is perfect for designing forms that only print filled in form content.

Forms can be designed so they look like the pre-printed form on-screen but only the filled in content is printed out. The software even has a printer offset feature that allows horizontal and vertical adjustments to be made to the form content so it is always printed on to pre-printed forms perfectly - no matter what printer is used!
