Hi iftikhar,

Check your laptop's keyboard language settings. AFAIK, the @ symbol above the 2 works on keyboards set to any of the 'english'
language variants. As a workaround, you can also input the @ symbol via the Alt-064 combination (possibly Fn-Alt-064 on your laptop)
or by using Insert|Symbol.

On a UK English keyboard SHIFT + 2 is " Shift + ' is @. The laptop
presumably has a US pattern keyboard?

Hi Graham

I suspect it is, but that doesn't matter if its been configured as something else via the Control Panel.

Agreed. Regional settings has it as the wrong configuration. However the OP
has several threads scattered around all on the same subject and I am sure I
covered that in one of them

This response was to the comment that "the @ symbol above the 2 works on
keyboards set to any of the 'english' language variants." which is not so,
or at best ambiguous.

Ah, I see - I took it for granted the reader would understand that the 'setting' is managed via the Control Panel.
