Default Word Mailmerge with Access via DDE

Hi

I have a Word 2003 mailmerge main document and I am trying to ensure a dde
link with an Access 2000 database. Using the Mail Merge Helper, I tried to
Open the data source. I have selected the files of type as MS Access
Databases (*.mdb; *.mde) and then navigated to the actual database in the
dialogue box. Then I clicked Open and get the Confirm Data Source dialogue
box which allows me to select 'MSAccess Databases via DDE (*.mdb; *.mde)'.
Having selected that, I clicked OK. A Microsoft Word message box opens that
says "Word could not re-establish a DDE connection to Microsoft Access to
complete the current Task."

The database is on the same drive folder as the mailmerge template. I've
tried
this with the files being on a shared network drive and a local folder.

I need to use DDE since I'm running my mailmerge against a parameterized
Access
query. The mailmerge works fine on my development box, a Win XP Pro
workstation.
It fails running on a Win 2000 Pro workstation.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can get this to work.

TIA

Jim
