Can you discern any pattern as to when Word "freezes"? Any particular
actions, or with certain documents?

If you hold down Ctrl when starting Word, to go into Safe Mode, is it more
stable or faster?

Have you tried running "Microsoft Office Diagnostics" to repair the
installation? You'll find that in "All Programs" under Windows, in the
Microsoft Office/Microsoft Office Tools list.

I am having the same issue! Diagnostics finds nothing wrong, and I have
installed everything.

I'm having the same issue. I'm on a Windows XP OS fully patched for the OS
and Office. This issue is intermittent and I've not been able to determine
the cause. Sometimes it happens when I'm accessing files. Sometimes it when
I'm saving files. This happens in Word and Excel and usually when I'm saving
to a network drive.
