Default using outline numbering in headers AND document

Hello.

I am attempting to convert word perfect docs to MS Word. I'm on an XPSP2
system with MS Office 2003. I can get all the text I need and use 'paste -
special' to get it into a new word doc, no problem. I followed Shauna Kelly's
advice to set up my sections as outline - numbered and think I have set up
the styles correctly for same. Everything works pretty well, actually, until
I go to add headers.

My book starts out like this:

II BookName

Each section header should read:

II-1 SectionHeader1
II-2 SectionHeader2

And the beginning text on each page is numbered thus:

II-1.1

and goes down through

II-1.1.1

If I create the doc with styled outline numbering and then try to copy and
paste the II-1 text and numbering into the header, it works great on the
first section. When I get to the second section, the numbering in the header
is okay, but the text numbering goes back to section I!

ANY help would be appreciated on this one. Please let me know if you need me
to send anything else. My thanks for your patience with the long post.

I suspect what you're looking for is the StyleRef field; see
http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/StyleRef.htm. Note that you'll need to
use more than one in order to get the heading numbers as well as the heading
text.
