Default embedded Excel spreadsheet

Hi, I have a Word doc that has several multiple paged Excel spreadsheets
embedded into it. When I view the document, the only thing I see is page
breaks. The spreadsheets do not show. If I used Print Preview, or if I
print the doc, they show up. But of course, I cannot edit them.

I need to extract the spreadsheets into Excel so that I can manipulate them.
How do I do this?

I've tried cutting and pasting where the page breaks are, but all this does
is bring the spreadsheets over as a graphic image.

Thanks!

On the View tab of Tools | Options, make sure that "Drawings" is checked and
that "Picture placeholders" is NOT checked.

Thanks Suzanne, I checked that but it's set correctly. I gave up and
manually recreated the spreadsheets since time was of the essence. Thanks
for your response.

Next time... try View - Print Layout.

By the way, you *can* edit in Print Preview. All you have to do is click the
Magnifier tool (in the Standard toolbar) to turn the mouse pointer back into
a regular editing pointer. That done, right-click the worksheet item and
chose Worksheet Object - Edit to edit it in place, or - Open to open a
larger Excel window.
