Default Unable to priint, save etc

I am not able to use any of the functions in the 'File' option of Word such
as open, close, new, save as, save, print etc. When I click on 'File' these
options are grayed out as are the icons on the tool bar. I have done a
system restore to an earlier time and they are the same there too. What can
I do? Please help.

What version of Word.

Is it the trial version of 2003 that is past its "use by date"?

If it's a full version, have you activated it? Check under HelpActivate
Product

Hope this helps.

You get 50 uses before it has to be activated. What happens when you choose
Help | Activate Product? Do you get a message that it is already activated?
