Default Getting the Properties of a file is significantly slower than open

HI,

Getting the Properties of a file is significantly slower than opening file
itself. Sometimes it takes at least 2 minutes to get to the properties of a
(one) word document. On the other I can open 20 files instantaneously. Is
there a way reason why this is happening.

OS: XP Pro SP2
Office XP

thanks

Usually I've had the complete opposite happen. Run a full viral scan, and
check for worms. Some worms are set to hit designated areas. There still
might be other reasons. It's important to find out why, just in case the
problem spreads to other areas.
