Default Fill in the Blank

I have a document that has been made . I want to lock the document so the
original can not be changed, but be able to fill in the blanks. I have
multiple fill in the blanks and a chart that need to be filled in. How would
I lock everything the place my cursor on the blank that needs to be filled in
and just type what I want and not have anything move?
Thanks

Default Fill in the Blank

What you are describing is a protected form. See
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...nTheBlanks.htm and especially
the forms tutorials by Dian Chapman that this article links to.

Default Fill in the Blank

What you are talking about is what Word calls an "online form." Check this
in help. For more about online forms, follow the links at
http://addbalance.com/word/wordwebresources.htm#Forms or
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...nTheBlanks.htm especially Dian
Chapman's series of articles. You may also want to look at

Hope this helps,
