Default Word should allow users to capatalize previously written text.

In Word we should be able to capatalize previously typed text as we would
bold previously written text.

Define the text you want to capitalize. Click on "Format"
then "Change case". Pick the option you want from the menu
that pops up.

Woops. Didnt' even notice you posted the same question twice. Looks like you
already got an answer. Oh well. Now you have a second opinion that confirms
the first. ;-)

In addition to Format | Change Case, you can use Format | Font | All Caps
(which is directly comparable to applying Bold formatting).

There aren't as many choices as in the Convert Case menu, but you can also
click in the text (or select passages, depending on need), then press
Shift+F3 to toggle between Upper/lower/sentence case.
