WORD 2002: How to stop recording Word Macro to allow for user inpu
I wish to create a macro that will display the Security tab of Tools/Options
and then stop there, so that the user can enter password details etc. But while I am recording this macro and get to the Security tab, the Stop Recording bar is not available, and I can only get to it by coming back out of Options. When I edit the VB code, I cannot see how to stop the macro from leaving the Options/Security tab. So when the macro is run, it actually achieves nothing - the user cannot even see it going to Options/Security! If I had entered a password while recording, that same password would have been applied to the current file. But I do not want a fixed password - that is for the user to decide each time. |

Macros don't work that way; and you can't use the macro recorder for
creating non-trivial macros. Use dialogs(wdDialogToolsOptionsSecurity).Show to display and optionally act on the security dialog. Be aware that mucking around with security settings from within VBA opens up a whole can of worms. "Hershmab" wrote in message ...
