No. A "hard return" (actually that term is more common for WordPerfect; in Word it's called a "paragraph mark") is what you get when you press the Enter key. If you display nonprinting characters, it appears as a ¶ symbol. A manual page break can be inserted by pressing Ctrl+Enter. With nonprinting characters displayed, it appears as a dotted line across the page with "Page Break" in the middle of it. There is also a manual line break (Shift+Enter) that appears as a left-pointing arrow with a hooked end. No. "Hard return" usually means a paragraph break (Enter); a manual page
break is inserted with Ctrl+Enter. -- Suzanne S.
