You follow the same advice I gave you before -- remove the extra paragraph
marks and replace them with either Space After in the preceding paragraph, or Space Before in the following paragraph. The basic fact is that if there are paragraph marks, they're going to display line numbers. You can't change that. If the use of extra paragraph marks is uniform -- that is, there is exactly one blank paragraph after each nonblank paragraph, this process can be done simply. First use the Edit Replace dialog; put ^p^p in the Find What box, put just ^p in the Replace With box, and click the Replace All button. Then modify the definition of the Normal style to have 12 pt in the Space After box (assuming the font is 10 pt). However, if the extra paragraph marks are sprinkled at random through the document, you'll have to replace them manually. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. Or replace ^p^p with ^pNoNumber^p repeatedly, then assign a (new?) style
with no line numbers (Format Paragraph Line and page breaks) to NoNumber with Find/Replace, then delete the tag NoNumber (replace it with nothing). (Might be a bit simpler/faster if the document is very large, although Jay's solution is cleaner in the long run) Klaus "Jay Freedman" wrote: You follow the same advice I gave you before -- remove the extra paragraph marks and replace them with either Space After in the preceding paragraph, or Space Before in the following paragraph.
