How to install a German and a Dutch spellcheck? Recent Word 2003 .
Recently bought Word 2003 Upgrade has only French and English spellcheck. I
need German and Dutch as well. This has never been a problem with earlier Word releases. |

Thanks very much. I am however dismayed that I have to pay extra because I
bought Word 2003 in the UK, whereas buying in the Netherlands the German and Dutch spellcheck (as well as English and French) always came standard. Now it looks cheaper to buy a new Dutch Version than to buy the additional proofing tools for two languages! "garfield-n-odie" wrote: Depends on what language version of Word/Office 2003 you have. For example, U.S.-English versions of Office 2003 include English, French, and Spanish proofing tools, but do not include German or Dutch. If your version does not include the proofing tools in the languages you need, you can purchase the Proofing Tools CD for Office 2003 and install the languages from that. See http://www.microsoft.com/office/edit...fingtools.mspx for more information. Rochus Zuurmond wrote: Recently bought Word 2003 Upgrade has only French and English spellcheck. Indeed, very dismaying. You can complain to MS at this website, perhaps
pointing out that their old structure is no longer sufficient in the current EU. http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp You may have misunderstood, though--I believe that once you buy the 1 CD, you can install as many languages as you want from it. I don't think it makes a price difference that you need two extra languages. On 2/20/05 1:51 AM, "Rochus" wrote: Thanks very much. An idea I've had is that when you buy a copy of Office in any language you should also get a number of "vouchers", say three or, better, four. Each of these "vouchers" will be redeemable for the additional proofing tools in a language of your choice. I have an English version of Office for example. The other languages that come with it are French and Spanish but in my work I need Turkish and (occasionally) French and German. This being an MS public newsgroup I won't tell you how I solved the problem but my wife has a Turkish version of Office and it comes with English and German support... -- Bob Kanyak's Doghouse http://www.kanyak.com |
