is it possible to password protect a file in word?
I want to write a journal if word that no one else will be able to read or
edit. I want to be able to update it each day. Is that possible or do I need to buy a seperate program? Thank you. |

See
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/as...860901033.aspx "Require a password to open or modify a file". If you assign a password to open, then DO NOT FORGET the password, because it will be very difficult (if not impossible) open or gain access to the password-protected document. You can set a password against opening the document from the security dialog
in tools options. If you set the encryption level high enough (the default setting is weak encryption) and use a hard to crack by guesswork password of at least 8 digits then the document will be very difficult to crack open. It will be similarly impossible for you to open it if you forget the password. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Jan wrote: I want to write a journal if word that no one else will be able to read or edit.
