Default winmail.dat problem

Not sure if this is a Word problem or an Outlook problem or what.

When I send an email attachment, it arrives as a "winmail.dat" file and the
recipient can't open it. I'm using Word 2000 and Outlook 2000, Internet Only.

This problem just started recently and I'm baffled.

Any suggestions?
