Default Table of Contents Problem

I'm working on a document in Word 2003. It has a table of contents generated
from headings. Each entry is supposed to have the Article number followed by
the title of that Article followed by a dot leader and then the page number
at the right margin. The problem is that with any entry that is smaller than
about 8 characters, the dot leader doesn't show up. It looks like:
Article IV Business 31 [I can see a tab formatting mark right after
"Business"]
whereas it should look like:
Article IV Business
.................................................. .................................................. .......31
Any ideas? Thanks.

You've got a tab stop (or hanging indent) just to the right of these short
entries, so the tab for the page number is stopping there.

There was a hanging indent at 1.25" in the style for TOC2. Once I took that
out of the style, the problem was fixed. I don't know how the style got
changed . . . but that's beside the point. Thanks,

Ross
