The "Pro" fonts in OTP format have many glyphs and characteristics apparently
not yet accessible. For instance, "old style" numbers, in-line numbers,
small-caps, to name a few that are useful when producing well laid out copy.
Only expensive page layout programs such as QuarkXpress and Adobe
Indesign/Photoshop seem to offer these facilities. I know that MS Word is not
and does not pretend to be a page layout program but handling fonts and their
characteristics seems fundamental to a high-end word processor.
