I have a Word 2000 mailmerge main document and I am trying to ensure a dde
link with an Access 2000 database. Using the Mail Merge Helper, I tried to
Open the data source. I have seleted the files of type as MS Access
Databases (*.mdb; *.mde) and then navigated to the actual database in the
dialogue box. Then I clicked Open and get the Confirm Data Sourcedialogue
box which allows me to select 'MSAccess Databases via DDE (*.mdb; *.mde)'.
Having selected that, I clicked OK. A Microsoft Word message box opens that
says "Word could not re-establish a DDE connection to Microsoft Access to
complete the current Task."

The database is on the same drive as the the mailmerge template and I am not
in a networked environment.

Am I doing something wrong here?
