Default missing field creates a space when printing labels

Some names in my data source do not have a title field. Their records show a
space when printing on labels. How can I remove this blank space?

You need to use an IF field to control the space. { IF TITLE "" " "}
You can do this with the Merge toolbar Merge Fields.

If you copy and paste your existing mailmerge field, which probably looks
something
like:
«Title»
so that you've got:
«Title»«Title»
then select both fields and Press Ctrl-F9, you'll get:
{ «Title»«Title» }
If you then fill in between the braces so that you've got:
{IF«Title»= "" "" "«Title» "}
and delete the space(s) after the existing «Title» field, that should give
the result you're after.

Cheers
