Which version of Office do you have? If it's Office 2007 beta, then it's
saved as .docx and you would need to change the save as options to the 2003
version from the drop down menu.

Open your resume, File - Save As - make sure it's being saved as a .doc.

You aren't using the beta, are you? Not a good idea for this usage. You'll
have to do a save as and make sure it's set to save it as a Word 2003
compatible document. If for some reason (and these things *do* happen!),
something gets screwed up in the translation, you won't get a job.

Okay,I tried that. How do you know it is saved as a .doc.? I had to pick from
drop down. I picked save as a word document. Originially, I picked rich text
formatt. I am using Word 2002. Thanx again...Jobseeker

The biggest clue is that the file name will end in .doc.

(You know that you're going to get boatloads of spam once your resume is
posted. My resume is posted there and I'm glad I used one of my junk mail
accounts for their records. My resume has my "real" addy.)

Thanx for the heads up on the spam. I do not see the .doc at the end of the
file. It is still the .rft. Any other suggestions?...jobseeker

File - Save as. Make sure it says Word document (*.doc). Name your file but
don't add the .doc yourself - let the program do that. I would also suggest
naming it something other than what you have been naming it so that you KNOW
which file is correct.

Are you running a trial version of word that has expired?

Yes. I believe I did. (Could you explain how and then I'll know for sure
that I did?)

What happens when you choose Help | Activate Word? If the app is activated,
you'll get a message box to that effect.
