Default "No program is registered to open this file" What up with that?

When clicking on a hyperlink I created in Word 2003 to a *.pdf document, I
get the following error message: "No program is registered to open this
file." I found something about it being a memory issue, but I am running I
Gig of memory (minus 64 Mb for my video on an AMD Athalon XP_M processor, I
cannot believe it is hardware. I have checked my Window file associations.
Any help would be appreciated.

It's nothing to do with your computer's memory. Start up Windows Explorer.
Go to Tools Folder Options. Have a look at the File Types tab: the list
shows registered file types and the associated program for each. If PDF is
missing from the list, you need to reinstall Acrobat. If it's not missing
you have a registry problem.
