Default word template corruption?

I can start word correctly using Start and Run and typing in winword.exe /a
so I am assuming I have a template corruption. I cannot figure out how to
get to Normal.dot file to rename since it's hidden. Need specific
directions. I am using Windows XT and Office 2003. Help is appreciated!

There are specific instructions in
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/...ocNotBlank.htm, but note that
running correctly in Safe Mode doesn't necessarily point to corruption in
Normal.dot. It could also point to a problem with the Registry or an add-in.
For more on that, see
