Custom pagination formats in Word 2003
We are setting up formatting for a very large document that will be broken up
into a number of parts. Members of the team will be working different sections of the parts. Is there a way to reference the section number (from a heading style) as well as the page number.... as example: Section 3.1.4.2 Page 1 where section is hardwired and the 3.1.4.2 is a field or cross reference and page is the normal page field? I know this is unusual, but is there an automated way, rather than a form field that the user enters the starting page section number? Regards |

If you are saying that you want to display the current number of a
particular heading level in the header (or footer), you can use a STYLEREF field. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Lenny" wrote in message ... Stefan: do I set up the STYLEREF in a similar manner to the caption? When
specifying a specific heading number, what happens when the heading number is used multiple times on the same page? The StyleRef will always pick up the most recent previous use of a style.
