If you want the "revision number" (as Word defines it), you can use a RevNum
field, but this merely indicates the number of times a document has been saved. If you want a more meaningful version number, create a custom document property, save the version number in that property, and use a DocProperty field to insert it. -- Suzanne S. If you are actually using Word's FileVersions feature (as opposed to Save
Asnewname to create separate files), AutoText will insert the same info as appears in version's Title Bar. You can also use the Insert AutoText button on the Header/Footer toolbar. Thanks, that works great ... Is there a way to get the DocProperty to
auto-update? I tried the macro that toggles from print preview and back (using the auto-update option), but to know avail... Versioning seems kinda buggy, but still worth using.. Greg "Suzanne S. If you're using Word's versioning feature, then I can't help you, as I would
touch that with a ten-foot pole! -- Suzanne S.
