Default word viewer 97

need to download word 97, or 6 viewer for applications. Currently have Word
2002 on windows XP, do not want to override current Word program, but need to
be able to utilize specific Word programs above for viewing, changing, and
sending applications by e-mail. Is this a possibility? What exactly do I need
to download to get one of these viewers?

Just type "Word 97 Viewer" into Google. I don't think there is a Word 6
Viewer.

But Viewers are for viewing, not changing, documents so I don't understand
what you really want.

Are you trying to ensure compatibility with previous versions of Word?
Note that there are some steps you can take in your current version to
accomplish that, namely, setting options for save and compatibility:
On the Tools menu, click Options. Click the Save tab. Check the option
to disable features introduced after a particular release. And on the
Compatibility tab, you can pick an older version at "Recommended
options for".
