Create a template or open an existing template. Insert the FILENAME
field in the footer. Save and close the file. -- Stefan Blom "Ian" wrote in message ... I want to set Word to open all new docum, ents with a footer already set which shows the file and path name. How can I set this? |

You can insert the filename or filename and path using the appropriate entry
from the AutoText menu on the Header and Footer toolbar. But do *not* add this footer to Normal.dot. -- Suzanne S. Hmm. So it is. I wrote that so long ago that I'd forgotten. It's also
discussed in the more recent article at http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...alTemplate.htm -- Suzanne S.
