It's a lot easier to print single-sided or duplex manually. Word *ought* to
get it right, but, depending on how your duplexer works, and given the
inherent flaws of the "Book fold" feature, I'm not surprised that it so
often doesn't. It may be that something as simple as changing the print
order to print the pages in reverse order would make it work, though.

That's by design. Say you have an eight-page booklet. Word will print the
pages as follows:

8 and 1
2 and 7
6 and 3
4 and 5

It may print 8/1 and 6/3 first and wait for you to turn the paper over
and
print the other side (manual duplex), or (if you have an automatic
duplexer)
it may print all the recto and verso pages automatically without help
from
you.

When you stack up all the pages together correctly and fold them in the
center, they will be in the correct order for a booklet.
