Default In Word template how do you unprotect sections to spell check?

I have created templates in the past with no problem protecting and
unprotecting sections for spell check purposes. I am trying to modify a
template now and when I click on "break" every click creates an "End of
Protected Section" . No "Section Breatk (Continuous) appear and it doesn't
spell check.

For a macro that spell checks protected documents, see
