How do I change background colour in text box on a template?
I have a letter head template but want to change the background colour in a
text box to match the rest of the colour scheme (which I have changed) is there anyway I can do this? TIA |

Do the following: Make sure the cursor is in the text box. On the
Format menu, click Text Box. Click the Colors and Lines tab. Under "Fill", specify a color, and then click OK. -- Stefan Blom "Ferret" wrote in message ... I have tried this and it still comes up with the original colour. "Stefan Blom" wrote: Do the following: Make sure the cursor is in the text box. On the Format menu, click Text Box. Click the Colors and Lines tab. Under "Fill", specify a color, and then click OK. -- Stefan Blom |

You first need to open the actual template (.dot) file, itself.
Assuming the template is not password protected, you can then change anything you want as you would in any other Word doc. Alternative: Create a new doc based on the template, make your changes to it and then Save As a .dot - use the same name as the original to replace it or use a different name to create a second file. Oh, you want to change the *default* fill color for text boxes. Then
you have to open your template as a document (via FileOpen), create a text box, specify the desired settings and make these the default. Note that there is no way to specify default settings just for text boxes. Instead, your changes applies to all autoshapes (including callouts and arrows, for example). Anyway, here is how to do it: With the cursor in the text box, click Draw on the Drawing toolbar. Click Set AutoShape Defaults. After you have changed the defaults, you can delete the text box in the template (unless of course you actually want one there). Finally, save and close the file. -- Stefan Blom "Ferret" wrote in message ... I have tried this and it still comes up with the original colour.
