Default Word 2007 and Mathtype

I think that Bob Matthews will the best to answer to these questions:
I have a problem with word 2007 and Mathtype (and windows XP pro). When I
work in mode Page (display), if I use mathtype near from a changement of
page, after closing the mathtype window, this window isn't correctly erased
and stay visible. Will that change in Mathtype 6?
Another question about the future Mathtype 6 : Will it be possible to change
directly colours of characters (without opening the mathtype window) as it
is actually possible with the new equation editor of Word 2007?
And finally have you an idea of when Mathtype 6 will arrive?

Cordially.

Raoul,

Sorry for the delay in responding; I was out of the country
without access to the internet.

I'm not sure what you mean by "Page (display)" mode. Word 2007
(English version) has 5 different layouts: Print Layout, Full
Screen Reading, Web Layout, Outline, and Draft. It's possible to
insert equations while in any of these layouts. The only layout
in which I was successful in duplicating your problem is Full
Screen Reading layout. With the window maximized while in this
layout, the pages cover the entire screen so perhaps this is the
one you mean. When I tried it, part of the MathType window
disappeared when I closed the window, and part of it remained. I
was able to get it to disappear completely by minimizing Word,
then restoring it. This indicates to me that this is more likely
a problem with Word 2007, for two reasons. One, because the Word
document isn't properly refreshing its display when MathType
closes, and two, because Word 2003 displays the document
correctly and the MathType window closes completely. This
behavior in Word 2007 will not change with MathType 6, but may
change with a future service release to Office 2007.

Another question about the future Mathtype 6 : Will it be

No.

MathType 6 should be available next month, and will include
enhancements for both types of equations in Word 2007.
