Default pound sign and hyperlinks

It seems that pound signs (#) do not work in hyperlink addresses. If a
hyperlink address has a # sign in it, I get the ubiquitious "Cant open the
file" error message. As soon as I rename the file taking the # sign out, it
will open the file. Is there a problem with # signs in hyperlink addresses
or am I doing something wrong? Windows allows # signs in file names but
apparently hyperlinks don't like them.

No, Office does not like the pound sign in hyperlinks. Here's a KB article
that gives some workarounds; best bet is to rename your file to not use #.
