Default Footers

How do you format a different footer for each page of a four page document?
I know how to do first page different, but I am having trouble with two,
three (the same) and four being different.

ANy thoughts?

It really depends on what you want in that footer.

If the footer is reflecting, say, a heading in the main text, then a
StyleRef field is the best bet. The "Beyond Numbering" section on this page
details setting one up:
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting...rontMatter.htm

Or you can use conditional fields, which are detailed on this page:
http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/Conditiona...rs_Footers.htm

You could get page 1, 2, and 3 by using First Page, and Odd and Even
Headers, but 4 would be the page 2 footer again. Or if you wanted to make
each page a Section in Word, then each section could have a different
footer.

In addition to the references Daiya gave you take a look at
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/Number...eNumbering.htm. For even more,
see http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/Page_Numbering.htm. These give examples of
conditional fields using page numbers for tests.

However, you should also look into the StyleRef field. It is often used to
give page-specific information in a header footer using the same
header/footer for an entire section or document. The header/footer will
reflect information in a certain style on the page.
