Auto formatting
I apply a preset style to a paragraph. Then I have to make individual words
bold, ital, etc. Every time I do that, Word adds a new style to my template. I have turned off all the auto formatting commands that Help directs me to, but the new styles continue to be developed. How can I stop Word from developing so many new styles? |

Uncheck "keep track of formatting." Note, though, that Word is _not_ adding styles but simply tracking your formatting here. -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://www.mvps.org/word which is awesome! --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- This message is posted to a newsgroup.
