Word 2007 Office Button - New Configuration
Something got glitched in my Office 2007 and I'm trying to get back to the
original setup. When clicking "New" to open up a blank doc or template, I no longer get the standard Office 2007 window. Instead, I get the older Word Template window. I'd like to get back to the new version. You can see an image of what I want here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/37929462@N05/3491051905/ What I see is here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/37929462@N05/3491051915/ This same effect also happens in all my other Office documents - Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Any help is greatly appreciated. If we can't figure this out, we're going to try a complete Office 2007 uninstall, followed by a registry cleaning, and then a reinstall. |

Word 2007 Office Button - New Configuration
There is a registry setting that controls this: Look in
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common\General for UseOffice2003NewDocumentDialog. If it has a value of 1, the old dialog is used. if it has a value of 0 (or does not exist) the new dialog is used. I looked for that registry key but didn't find it. We did a complete
uninstall of Office including a registry cleaning to remove all keys and then reinstalled it. The same issue is still there. Any other thoughts on where this setting might lie? Sorry - that's the only way I know to control it. I suppose it could be set

Found something that works:
There was a registry key in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\C ommon\Internet UseOnlineContent. It had a setting of 2. I went and set it to 1 and that fixed the problem.
