How do I backup MS Outlook Office 2003 at the end of a day?
This is a very simple question but difficult for me! I am using outlook as a
quick filing system for emails. It is too important to lose and I would like to back it up. Can I do this with a memory stick? |

You can use a memory stick (if its big enough) - but it is a somewhat
unusual, relatively expensive, and rather volatile medium for a backup - far better to use CD or DVD. -- Enjoy, Tony "amalouba" wrote in message ... How do I backup MS Outlook Office 2003 at the end of a day?
You answered in part. Thanks. I actually want to know HOW to back it up.
i.e. how do I get it from the computer to CD. I also want to use something that I can copy on to time and time again. Is this possible? You should post your question in an Outlook NG.

I'm not entirely sure what you don't know ...
In Outlook, from the Menu, Select File Data File Management Select your Outlook PST (probably the only entry in the list) Click on Settings... The name and location of your file will be shown in the Filename box When you know what and where the file is, you can copy it anywhere you like. You can use Windows to copy to memory sticks, zip drives, etc. Use your favourite CD burning software to put it on CD - use CD-RW discs if you want to be able to reuse them - although I prefer to put backups on non-overwritable CD-R discs, which only cost a few pence each these days. -- Enjoy, Tony "amalouba" wrote in message ... How do I backup MS Outlook Office 2003 at the end of a day?
Thanks a lot. I am clueless about the technical side. I can use my laptop
at a basic level and am learning. Love emailing etc but business is demanding me to use computer in a more sophisticated way. Thanks so much for your patience. There is an Outlook backup add-in available from Microsoft
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en which can be configured to backup Outlook every time you exit the application. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org amalouba wrote: Thanks a lot.
