I am trying to open an embedded file in word. I appear to be able to
activate the object according to help but I still am unable to see the
contents of the file.

What version of Word? What type of object? What happens when you look
at it? How do you look at it?

Thanks for responding.

I am running word 2003 it is a word file containing an animated Xmas card.
I double click the icon and I get a message cautioning against virus et
cetera and do I want to proceed I click yes the egg timer comes up then goes
and nothing happens. If I click on help to activate object in package help
tells me that the object is activated but I don't know how to actually open
the file.
