Hi Stanley,
The POSTNET barcode field support, introduced in Word v6, was outdated and MS dropped it from Word 2007. ================= "Stanley" wrote in message ... Here's one way to insert zip codes in your documents: I used an AutoText
mergefield in Word 2000 that still works in Word 2007. The mergefield code is: { BARCODE \u "type zip code here" \* MERGEFORMAT }. I called it ZIPBARCODE. Whenever I want to use it, I type ZIP and then F3 to drop the code into my document/envelope. SHIFT+F9 opens the code and I replace "type zip code here" with the pertinent ZIPcode, then press SHIFT-F9 again to close the code. As I say, it still works in Word 2007. And as we've explained in several threads in the last few weeks, the reason
you have to go to these lengths is that Microsoft deliberately removed the barcode settings from several dialogs. They did that because the Post Office no longer uses the kind of PostNet barcode that the Word field inserts. Using Word to put barcodes on your mailings may be worse than useless, because the Post Office will have to cover them and substitute the correct ones. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. gr8auntieokie wrote: Here's one way to insert zip codes in your documents: I used an AutoText mergefield in Word 2000 that still works in Word 2007.
