Keep getting numbered new documents
Every time I open a new word document, the document is numbered at the top,
(ex. new doc1, new doc2, etc.). Even if I don't write any text, immediately close or save any changes it still adds the next consecutive number. I am currently up to document 12 and I haven't written anything in word in a few days. I can open then close Word right away without writing anything and the numbers still increase. |

Sounds like temp files are not getting deleted. See
http://www.gmayor.com/what_to_do_when_word_crashes.htm. If you're on a network, it may be that you don't have the required delete permission on the folder where the temp files are stored. -- Suzanne S. With Word and Outlook closed, delete the temporary files as indicated.
Reboot the PC and see if that has fixed it. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org dgarcia wrote: "Suzanne S.
