Default Post Code in Word 2007

Ini prior releases of Word a post code could be placed on the top or bottom
of an address for an envelope or label. In Word 2007, it is missing. Anyone
know where it went?

The check box was removed from the dialog because the PostNet barcode that
it produces is no longer valid for bulk mail discounts
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/897290). You can still manually insert a
BARCODE field wherever you like.

Default Post Code in Word 2007

I haven't looked to confirm, but if it was dropped there are probaly at
least 2 valid reasons:

1- The postal bar codes in Word were never updated to the new USPS specs &
were therefore obsolete & innacurate, and

2- Postal Bar Codes on individual pieces of mail are a waste of ink & space
in the first place.

Actually I did just confirm - search Word Help using keyword: bar code for
details.

From what I've read of your replies the postcode was not in keeping with USPS
guidelines and therefore useless. I'll take the approach of "saving ink" by
not worrying about it in future. Thanks all.
