blank" areas and the other areas of the form are non editable? Thanks for
the help.

See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...nTheBlanks.htm and
especially the forms tutorials by Dian Chapman that this article links to.

Note also that if you type "forms" into the Help box in Word 2003, one of
the Help topics returned is "Create forms that users complete in Word."

What you are talking about is what Word calls an "online form." Check this
in help. For more about online forms, follow the links at
http://addbalance.com/word/wordwebresources.htm#Forms or
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...nTheBlanks.htm especially Dian
Chapman's series of articles. You may also want to look at

Hope this helps,

Yes, it is possible. Using your forms tool bar choose a text, date, check
box etc. type fill in area and when you are finished with your form. Choose
the little lock symbol to protect the form. This will allow filling in of
the form, but they will not be able to change your text.
