Default Why is WordArt so different between Word and Excel 2007?

Hi all. Can anyone tell me why the WordArt styles are so different between
Word/Outlook 2007 on the one hand, and Excel/Powerpoint 2007 on the other? It
seems that the Word/Outlook styles are the same as those in 2003, but the
Excel/Powerpoint ones are newer. This question is on behalf of a user here at
work who would like to use the newer styles in Word 2007 ...... thanks!

Hi Dobbie,

Powerpoint and Excel have the full implementation of an updated graphics engine which included the new WordArt. Word (and the Word
clone that Outlook uses) do not. The older style WordArt is available in Powerpoint and Excel as well.

Thanks Bob! )

Do you know if Microsoft are planning a patch/update release to standardise
WordArt across the whole suite, or will it stay as it is?

It will stay as it is for Office 2007. It's expected to be updated in all of
the Office programs in the next release, which won't be available for at
least a couple of years.

If you prefer the "new" wordart in excel and want to use it in Word, try
creating it in excel, copying it then pasting into your word document!
