Default Styles question

Hi,

We have Windows XP, Word 2003.

What is the difference between the Styles Separator and a Paragraph Mark
that has been formatted as Hidden? They both seem to fill the same function
as far as separating Heading style from Body Text style within the same
paragraph.

That is, does the Styles Separator do something a regular Hidden Paragraph
Mark does not?

Many thanks,
Rosemary

One difference is that when the style separator is used, the paragraphs
appear to be one even if you have Hidden text displayed.

Where do you access the style separator, I've never used it, but sounds
interesting.

Word 2003 automatically inserts a style separator for you if you select part
of a paragraph and apply a heading style. Alternatively, you can add the
InsertStyleSeparator command to a toolbar (see the last sentence of the
article at http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/RunInSidehead.htm).

If you are using Word 2007, add the Style Separator command to the Quick
Access Toolbar.
