Auto update of Filename in the Footer?
I have developed a form in Word 2007 and I am using the Filename field from
Quick Parts in the footer. The problem is that I want that field to update automaticly when the user saves the form with a new, personal name. Now there is always the original name of the form, despite that I have unmarked the box for "Preserve formatting during updates". So how can I force the Filename field to an auto update? Best regards, Ruppe |

Auto update of Filename in the Footer?
The FILENAME field does no longer update when you simply open a document.
What you can do is force an update by switching to Print Preview and then back to your current view. Alternatively, you can run a macro to update all fields in the document. See the example at http://www.gmayor.com/installing_macro.htm. You may also want to take a look at the KB article at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/832897/en-us ("The FILENAME field does not automatically update when you open a document in Word"). -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Ruppe" wrote in message ...
