Default Word sticks on one page

Suddenly, my Word program is refusing to create more than one page per
document. Tried to reset page definitions to see if it would help, but it is
giving a message about right margins getting narrower. Will not allow me to
reset margins to default.
Computer illiterate so simple suggestions please!

Go to Format | Columns and click the button for One (even if it appears to
be already selected). Make sure that "Whole document" is selected for "Apply
to." If this solves the problem in a given document, then you need to make
this change in Normal.dot. See
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/...ocNotBlank.htm for instructions.
